Dr. Julie Miller is a board-certified radiologist and a pioneer in the practice of using digital imaging for radiographic overreading.

Dr. Miller completed her residency in 1988 at Harbor-UCLA. where she was an Assistant Professor of Radiology for 11 years specializing in Ultrasound and Mammography. At Harbor-UCLA, Dr. Miller taught radiology residents and staffed outpatient radiology services.

In 1989, while serving as a faculty member in the Radiology Department at Harbor-UCLA, Dr. Miller was asked to provide Radiology support for an urgent care center which soon referred her to other Southern California outpatient clinics. Dr. Miller quickly recognized the critical need for timely and personalized radiology services at medical offices that did not have the capacity to support an on-site radiologist. Front-line providers were now able to receive immediate radiological interpretations by a highly qualified academic clinician. Dr. Miller has also guided the technical upgrades in offices advancing from plain films to digital imaging. She has been a pioneer in the emerging field of voice recognition dictation, which has allowed her to passing on significant savings to the clinics and doctor’s groups that she serves.

Along with her husband, an emergency medicine physician, Dr. Miller created the first course teaching bedside ultrasound to emergency physicians nationwide.
